Yeah, commissions are pretty much my full time gig. I learned a long time ago that I'm not cut out for comic work, so I try to get the occasional cover job and fill out the rest of my time doing commissions. It's what I'm happiest doing.
No plans for another sketch book right now. I still have a ton of old books unsold. I needed to hit the con circuit to sell those things and I'm not a big con guest kind of guy. Thanks.
Holy shit, Nostalgia is in a new building? Well, at least you dont have to worry about the floor caving in or the roof collapsing on your head anymore. I'm sure you'll miss the turn of the century architecture though. It was definitely a unique feature to be located in a building older than then the country it's in.
Get to work on that. I ask about Gary every time I go into these shops and they look at me like I'm an asshole. It's as if they've never heard of you. Heroes is still up in the air. I'd like to go, but being me, I might not make it.
Only under threat of the city putting a road through our store did Charles move us--they bought him out and are going to make 10th street unrecognizable by expanding it and putting an overpass over the train tracks there. Trouble is the new building is only three blocks away and in an old building that could use repair too. The more things change... I did love that old place, I always thought it could use fixing up, but the building itself was awesome. As for Heroes, I tend to talk myself out of going every year--we'll see. Good yapping with you a bit, though. Take care.
Thanks. That does make sense. I spend a lot of time with the textures. They're probably my favorite part of the process. Even when I'm tasked with working on a super hero, I find a way to get some crunchy textures in there somewhere.
