technically it is a piece of original art for a "real cover". That would be a 1-of-1 (back)cover for X-Men #1. Unless the artist re-draws the image lol But even then, it would be unique as it wouldn't be a copy.
These all turned out great Chris! Actually they turned out spectacular; considering how the cover paper won't hold traditional media well. I'm sure you had a interesting challenge ( as I did ) not smudging, and waiting for the paint to dry.
Thanks. Yeah, the markers sit pretty high on the surface of this paper, so blending is a pain and can't be done the way I want to. Painting was tough too, but it was a little easier working around that than it was the markers heh.
That's interesting Chris. I thought it would be the other way around; I thought the markers would be a bit easier to blend. Thanks. I found when I did a cove with ink, that the ink would lift right off. So I had to be very careful not to touch the ink on the cover for more than a week before I could even touch it.
