Iron Man- Marker Illo by ChristopherStevens Iron Man- Marker Illo by ChristopherStevens
Another commission piece with mixed media (ink, markers, white paint touch-ups, white pencil crayon), this time of Iron Man, based on a pose originally done by John Byrne on the cover of Iron Man #197.

Prismas? Awesome!

You are operating at a whole other level with this grey tonal work and your sense of light, shadow, and balance to create form and shape is just massive!

I'm just raving now because your stuff is driving me insane trying to figure out how you bend the markers to your will like this. In case you hadn't figured it out by now, I'm really diggin' everything you've been posting up so far and I hope to see much, MUCH more!

Thanks. The secret is the other two mediums. White color pencil and white water color paint.

Secret or not you've got some serious mojo working here and I'm diggin' it!

I guess you've been asked this before but any plans on sticking some pieces like these in a sketch or art book that I can add to my shelves upon shelves of great sketch or art books?

Thanks! I've done some cover work in the rpg field, but not much in comics. None of the marker work has been published yet though. It's still a pretty new medium for me. I'm curious to see how they'd look colored. Haven't gotten around to coloring any myself yet...or trying to color I should say hehe.
