Brohawk suggested I do a Bob Kane Batman. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
very good fit for Batman Black & white series from DC Collectible
awesome job sir !
I love the coloring style!
This is great!
I'm picking up copics/prismacolors myself just now...any way you could make some kind of video of your progress? I saw your hulk tutorial but I'm trying to get the hang of simple blending right now
Sometimes, when I see your stuff, I can't decide if I'm inspired to get better, or simply want to throw all my tools in the trash and take up knitting or something else I can be equally bad at...
hehe, well we all have that feeling. I feel like quitting when I look at my stuff too sometimes.
The render is amazing, like always. I've come to expect the marker work to be really stand out. The Bob Kane version isn't that bad of a idea except it kinda looks like the dimensions of Wolverine in a Batman suit. Kinda short and compact I almost want to call him 'Puck' from Alpha Flight, haha! But it looks great.
Dude - everything you draw is a good idea.
Classic Batman never looked so good. Well done.
ahahhah it's still a good idea now I like it very much
wonderful ..........good work
You can't go wrong with David's big brain! Very cool!
I'm liking the old school look very classic like feel to him Nice touch!!!
How do you color this and where did you learn that? It's simply awesome.
Technically not colored, but the greys have a little color in them. Blue and brown. Self taught.
I'm trying to get into markers. Your work always amazed me, in comparison with other artist using markers too, but now I just ca'nt understand how you achieve this insane level of blending and tonal range with subtle gradients. Masterpiece!
Oh, and you really should do some videos showing your process!!
How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Yeah, that's an old one. Just keep at it. I learned by doing, so that's what I always advocate. I have a pic tutorial in my gallery somewhere that might help a little. It's old, but my process hasn't changed much. Good luck to you.
Thanks for the reply! I'm sure you break a lot of sweat to get where you are, and that's the beauty of it. A little selfish to ask for a video, bad habit from the days we live. Sure I'll keep trying and improving, and your work is a great inspiration! Oh, hope to see more of your acrylics and oils stuff. Congratulations from Brazil!
Thanks. I hope I didn't sound short with you. I guess it's a question I get a lot so I've started to do a cut and paste type response to it. I'm still working in oils so I hope to share some paintings soon.
The head looks similar to Wolverine.
really digging your work, man.
Thanks. Your name's familiar. Were you an rpg.net artist back in the day?
Yes I was!
Now a days I freelance full-time as a fantasy/sci-fi artist and co-host the Ninja Mountain Podcast in what spare time I can muster.
Great to see you keeping so busy!
I hope comics are treating you well!
You do such strong work.
Makes me want to do more with comics.
I thought so! Those were good times. I joined that forum right after my first paying gig, so I was such a wet behind the ears goof. Thank you for the kinds. I'll be sure to watch you too. Good luck to you.
Weren't we all?
Now we are jaded soldiers with long years in the muddy trenches ( lights cigar while favoring his monitor with a thousand-yard-stare).
I look forward to following along with your continuing adventures, man.
Thanks for the follow.
